Unless it can match the price and the games library, the Scorpio will largely sell to existing XB fans which will lead to a initial spike and then a slow decline. The only chance MS have of taking anything from the Scorpio is to change the narrative to it being a 'new generation' and not a 'mid generation update'. The problem with that is MS will have to manage the PR carefully because people will expect Scorpio only titles and that isn't what was promised and one of the main reasons people are happy buying the Slim and not waiting for the Scorpio. I'm already seeing 'BC' being pushed so it's not out of the question that's the route MS will take.
