The way I see it i'd rather have paid map packs than microtransactions for customizables on disc. If a map pack is worth it i'll pay for it, better than paying for small customization or using currency that takes forever to grind. There has been almost no game I know of that did free microtransaction based DLC well, but I can understand how some would prefer it..
