I don't think there is, the value of replayability is on each player, so games that might seem "pointless" to replay to some could still remain a meaningful experience to others.

As someone that hasn't missed an annual playthrough of Paper Mario for 8 or 9 years, I can say that going through it so many times hasn't deminished its charm or its appeal, the fact that are, for the most part, no big surprises it's not a problem because the game is still increadibly charming and a blast to get through. To be fair, I have a great emotional attachment to the game, so I think I'm in the minority here, but replaying old favorites is most of my enjoyable experiences in gaming today. Most people view games as fun little distractions and that's okay, but that doesn't diminish the value of rexperiencing things, because that value is inherently subjective to each player.

I think that this is one of the few things that make me aprecciate the fact that our memories are pretty flawed, forgetting can be a wonderful thing in these few cases.

I'm now filled with determination.
