Pokemon GO was free and could work on a device most people need and this had no impact on Wii U sales and only effected 3DS sales since there are Pokemon games on it.

Look at the top selling games on PS4 (hell we're on a site that tracks numbers there is no excuse for this) and tell again Nintendo doesn't need third party support espically when they get more games on their console and royalites from copies sold.

Time isn't free kiddo. Nintendo gave hours upon hours of entertainment that had some real world value (walking/weight loss, like Wii Fit). Nintendo would have been set for another 200 years if people would have paid an honest amount for the no. of entertainment hours they got from Pokemon Go.

"look at PS4 software sales"

Look at any software sales from a Nintendo system and you'll understand how little 3rd parties mean.

CoD and Minecraft would be nothing without the DS and Wii raising gaming awareness/accessibility. Everyone else is irrelevant.

Call Of Duty sold worse on Wii though and Minecraft wasn't on any Nintendo system until eariler this year and yet third party does matter since

third party support = more games

more games = more hardware and software sales

more hardware and software = more money for Nintendo

Hell Black Ops 3 on PS4 which is the best selling PS4 game has sold more then double then the amount of copies of the best selling game on Wii U.

I want games like Red Dead Redemption  2, South Park The Fracture But Whole, Mass Effect Androma, Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite, and Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Switch since I would be able to take them on go and even though I am not an Assassin's Creed fan outside of 2 I would gladly buy it on the Switch to support third party support on Nintendo systems and for having an brand new AAA open world game I can take on the go. You don't have to buy Assassin's Creed if you don't want to but no one is making you buy it and it being on the Switch and doing decent numbers is a good thing in the end.

Also if we had third party support we would basically have no game droughts which was what killed the Wii U was going months with best at just a few virtual console releases in terms of game releases.
