Shovel Knight was the only game example you gave me, that's why I addressed it.

My original point was to counter the post of that user that said Nintendo give them options, like they failed because they didn't accept Nintendo help... which is ludicrous.

To be fair, there is some truth to what he said.

You can go back and look at the build up to Wii, Iwata stated that the HD consoles would see development costs go through the roof causing many studios to close shop and the studios that remained would play it safe and double down on the types of gameplay experiences that were already popular. Wii & DS offered an alternative where developers could think outside the box to make creative software without the need to sell millions of copies to break even.

Unfortunately many studios flooded the market with low-quality shovelware meant to do nothing but milk the expanded audience & make a quick buck to help fund their big HD projects.

Do you have a link to Iwata-san's statement regarding HD development? I would like to read what he said. Like I said in a previous post, I think Nintendo is keeping their systems lower power for very real reasons. Cost of game development being one of them.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!
