unfortunately Nintendo makes it hard to do cheap shopping :( Thank god pre-owned games exist. Manage to steal 3DS games at around $14 average.

If you look and be patient you can find great deals throughout the year :p
But ya I agree with you, Nintendo barely drops prices for their physical games.
This is what I've gotten in 2016 for Nintendo wise (WiiU and 3DS) - all of these are new, I dont buy used/pre-owned games.
WiiU -The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - $30 at Best Buy -The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD w/Amiibo - $25 at Walmart Black Friday -Super Smash Bros WiiU DLC Collection #1 - Amazon $10 -Super Smash Bros WiiU DLC Collection #2 - Amazon $22 -Super Smash Bros WiiU DLC Collection #5 - Amazon $7.49 -Super Smash Bros WiiU DLC Collection #6 - Amazon $15.49
3DS -Pokemon Sun - $0 (Amazon) -Bravely Second - $20 at Best Buy Black Friday -Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Gift) -Nano Assault EX (Gift) -Humble Friends With Nintendo Bundle - (Retro City Rampage: DX, Shantae And The Pirate's Curse, Affordable Space Adventures (WiiU), Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (WiiU)) - $1.00

The only time I buy pre-owned is if it looks like brand new. While it is unfortunate that i dont get to unwrap it(which is very enjoyable), I typically care most for the condition of the game.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.
