These upgrades will be the norm going forward. PS4 Pro will eventually hit a tipping point where it outsells the OG PS4 on a month to month basis. It is just the way of th future. No one can be comptitive with 5- 6 years bewteen devices, becuase the competition will not be standing still. Plus, even at 6 years the difference between device is no longer big enough for a generational leap. Deminishing returns are requiring a shift in the market. If you can't give people a generational leap every 6 years, but you can offer a better experience to those whoe wish to have it every 3 or 4 years, then you go where the money is. I know this new era is tough for some to grasp, but honestly, it is the best thing they can do. If they had waited and released a PS5 in 208 or 2019, the difference between the device would not be much greater than what we are seeing with Pro and PS4 right now, yet it would be called PS5. That underpowered posser would be a much bigger issue for Sony than just being honest and saying, here is a more powerful, and smoother version of the experience you already have, feel free to upgrade as you please. |
Yeah, I'll wait for that to happen - the Pro outselling the Slim I mean. As I said, I don't think there'll be PS5 Pro.
