Isn't Ripley a completely fictional person in a fictional setting facing fictional circumstances? Kinda like someone in his own safe space.
It's actually really funny that this thread comes from you. Society is built upon protecting the weak, as are most religions. You treat weakness as if it is a sin.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
