Don't really think it's a cause for celebration.
How did they even allow him to escape to Italy? what the hell was Berlin doing? Shouldn't they have been on maximum border control? If not, then there is some serious issues. If they were, then there are still serious issues needed to be addressed.
I understand if he went into a different town or something, but Italy!?
