Is lack of gender/racial diversity valid criticism?

If the diversity - or lack of diversity - you present, is good enough for the film/whatevermedium then no, its not a good argument. A lot of times a film has a "token" black/latino/asian character thats just there to NOT be white, yet doesnt add anything.
