I started on Xbox Live in '07 and PSN in '08. I've been using both religiously, ever since. At the time, I felt like Xbox Live was literally worth $50 more than the free PSN. Sony slowly but surely closed the gap and made their service worth $50 (well, $60) as well.
Both are really close but, in my opinion, Xbox Live still takes it. I could go point by point but it's all just opinions. Nothing is going to sway anybody's opinion as to which service is better.
