Regarding your bolded it is really simple:

PS wants more money for their games than Amazon does for PS's games.  That's it.  It is a profit based decision each company makes individually.

Also, consider this: Amazon doesn't just get those codes for free.  They tell Sony "we want X codes" X being the variable we don't know.  Sony says "Ok, we will only charge you 30 bucks a code because you are buying X.  But, if you buy Y instead, we will charge you 20 bucks a code."  Amazon turns around and says "OK we will buy Y instead."  Sony then sends codes, and Amazon makes 5 bucks a game by selling for 25.  Both companies make money.  Everyone is happy.  Except you, because apparently you want Sony to discount you for 1 code the way they discount Amazon for a lot more.

Lol.... No.

I don't want sony to discount me for one code, I want them to discount every single person on the planet that buys their game digitally. Cause I don't know.... but I am sure that number will be significantly higher than any number of codes amazon can sell..... ESPECIALLY when you consider that all these people, or codes still sends them right back to the PS store.

Now if sony is willing to sell 1000 codes to amazon at $25, so amazon can sell them for $30, and then the buyer still comes back to the PS store to redeem his code and download the game from the PS store..... why doesn't sony just discount the game to $30 on their store so everyone that wants it at that price can get it? Why still list the game for $60 then sell it for less to another store only to have the customers of that store still be redirected back to the PS store.

You say its a business decision, who do you think this decision hurts? Doesn't sony need to build the brand of their own store? Do you have any idea how stupid it sounds to have a rap like this? "shit is expensive on the PS store, if you want to get the best digital deals for games even from the PS store then you should go to amazon instead to get your digital codes."

let's start by reminding you that "sony" isn't selling shit.  sony is a distributer here.

Square enix owns that game and they are setting the price.  sony doesn't get to just put any game they want on discount and tell the game developer "fuck off i saw a sale on amazon and decided you are going to have to price match that".  SE and every other publisher has to agree to the pricing.

which is exactly why neodegenerate is right and you are wrong.  i deal was struck with amazon and they purchased codes i bulk.  now that amazon owns those codes they can do whatever they want with those codes: they probably intend to sell them at a profit but when are a reseller like amazon sometimes it means selling things at a loss.

psn isn't making that deal.  they sell 1 code at a time and the publisher is picking the price.  sony as a distributer takes their 10% (or whatever) cut regardless of the price the publisher sets.
