What about a 100% pure consumption tax.
Raise taxes on all goods and services to be an equal, fair, and sustainable rate and remove taxes on all wages.
Give the lowest earners a stipend so that they are not adversely affected.
You now only pay for what you use and those that are wealthy and use a lot more must pay a lot more. No more rebates or tax loopholes for buying a yacht while donating old one as a tax write-off.
If you buy an $800 plate of foot you pay out the nose for it. If you buy a McD's burger you don't pay much more than you already do.
