This is why I think both games and movies should not be just rated or scored each as one monolithic media.

Basically, if I reviewed either, I would judge them on what they were meant to be. Movie critics generally refuse to consider that a blockbuster movie should be reviewed as entertainment, and not as art. That's partly why Michael Bay is hated so much. His makes rollercoasters, and they review them like poetry.

What I mean, is review them based on what they try to be, not on what one thinks the whole medium should be. 



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
