I think Sony has done their homework and will transition fine, they have Playstation Now which is available on Playstation devices, Windows & select Sony/Samsung smart TVs.

Currently all it offers is PS3 games but in the future I wouldnt be surprised to see it offer brand new games.

Yep Sorry I forgot about playstation Now. So it pretty much allows for streaming similar to xbox. smart TVs will become a key platform in the future for gaming I think.  They will need to get PS 4 games working on this as well which is prob more important and in development in that case.
