Well said. I can often guess the user making a thread based on the title. We have a problem with members using news or rumors as a trojan horse to stealth troll.

I imagine some folks are too scared to troll directly so they link a YouTube video of someone else doing the trolling, or maybe spread a little FUD. It just makes this place all the more toxic.

I'm convinced 90% of this community is made up of cool, respectful people who love games. The problem is we have a small percentage of trolls who provoke the usually reasonable 90%, who in turn lash out at others, and then it all spirals out of control.

What I find really weird is that the people who complain the most about "x fanbase being toxic", are the ones who are the most toxic from their fanbase. Like do they ever stop for a second and wonder if they are part of the problem, too?

One of my favourite sayings is

You just blew my mind.

Another thing, and it's something I'm guilty of too, is that we don't hold our own accountable. When I see a Sony partisan attacking Xbox for no good reason, I'm quick to interject. But if I see a Nintendo fanatic going off the reservation I'm less likely to act. It's something I need to work on, and something that would help a lot around the forums. Imagine, for example, if an influential and respected Xbox owner laid the smack down on an Xbox fan for trolling. That would be a lot more effective than a Sony or Nintendo fan doing the smacking.
