It's the internet. It's an open forum. You can go where you want and say what you want. It's okay. But why?

More specifically, why go into a thread about something you don't like or don't want to buy and start bad mouthing or downplaying?

Let's say console X has a cool feature. Maybe it can read to the blind. Is your first instinct to go into the thread and say things like "Well, my kids aren't blind so it's a useless feature" or "Blind people have their own way of reading" or "I buy my console for games. Not blind people helping."?

If "Game X: The Retun" is only available on console X and you don't have that game/console, is it your mission to go into that thread and say "Game X sucks. It has shitty frame rate. It doesn't sell well. Game Y on Console Y is better."

If so, why? Why do you do that? What do you get out of it? Just wondering.
