I do agree that the Wii has been somewhat disappointing this generation. It's not because I hate Nintendo, or I think it's kiddy, or anything like that. I've actually been a pretty adamant Nintendo fanboy from NES to Gamecube, even though I owned the Sega Genesis and the PS1 & PS2. But, I've always wanted Nintendo to do better during the N64 and GC era. I've always called people ignorant when they labeled Ninty first party titles "kiddy."

When the Wii was released, I was pretty hyped as well about it. Sony was having this ultra-expensive console, I didn't know the 360 would have so many jRPGs judging from the original Xbox (which is why I waited a long time after launch to buy one). All of my other friends bought a Wii as quickly as they can because of all the hype. Months dragged and they were all still playing Wii Sports and Wii Play only. I thought Zelda: TP was on orders of magnitude better on the Gamecube because of the controls. I decided to get a PS3 and then a 360.

But once Brawl came out, I got the Wii the same day. But after a week, I just played that game on all of my friends' Wiis and mine just sat their collecting dust compared to the PS3 or 360. So I sold mine.

Frankly, I'm not seeing this mass migration lately of all the third parties scrapping HD development and going to the Wii, like people have been talking about on this site. All the games that I care about are being announced for the HD consoles, and that doesn't seem to be changing. Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Ninja Gaiden 2, MGS4, Tales of Vesperia, Final Fantasy XIII, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted, Mirror's Edge, etc.. Note - these are not all "Bald Space Marine" games that Wii fanboys like to stereotype HD console fans for playing.

Unless there is something really amazing that comes to the Wii to make me want to re-buy it, the two losing HD consoles have me covered.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
