What's the lowest level of graphics you still find acceptable?

For PC because monitor distance is close 1080p with medium+ settings , with console because tv is 3 meter away i still play ps3 and xbox 360 games with no problem.
But i still play ps1, ps2, gamecube e.t.c. games on emulators so I guess i don't have big problem with graphics if the game is good.
