I have a secular female friend who moved to the West from Egypt, but who still has sisters and cousins in Egypt who didn't wear headgear in the past but have recently started doing so because of social pressure (particularly when the Muslim Brotherhood was in charge). She has shared a lot of her observations with me. I don't profess to be an expert, but I object to your assertion that I know nothing about the cultural underpinnings.

Then  you would realize that creating seperate societies in Western Nations is not a good path.

Many immigrant group I seen have shed backwards ideals to the dustbin of history once they come to western nations.

So do many many muslisms as well, but it seems in my community there is a large minority who want to create a society and way of life like its the 'old country'

Your comment is intellectually dishonest.  So closed to other perspectives are you believe that someone who has the same information as you can't help but come to the same conclusion, if "Then  you would realize..." is anything to go by.

I'm not as certain as that of *any* of my beliefs, and I recommend you not be.

I don't want anyone to force someone to wear it, and I certainly don't want anyone to force someone not to wear it.
