I tried out yesterday HTC Vive and Oculus rift at a place. The biggest issue was, by far, my head size (66cm). The Vive itself did not fit well on my face especially because the straps were pulling it up. The Oculus didn't even fit correctly to my face as the headset's plastic sides were pressing against the sides of my eyes uncomfortably. I think in both cases the distance from my eyes to the lenses (the so-called eye relief) was too large (especially with the Oculus) and this has the direct effect of lowering the FOV a lot. The sensation was like looking through binoculars. Another issue was that I didn't set the IPD which is important for a correct perception of the VR environment. Clearly, at this moment, I would not prefer any of the above two (the Oculus being a no go actually).
So, how do you think the PSVR fares in this department? Does it fit head sizes 26 inches and up? More precisely, can you bring in the HDM close enough to your face so that your eyes are in the sweet spot for maximizing FOV, or does the HDM actually impede this process (as the Oculus does)?
