Sources claim  that 3DS is massively yoy up, the only one console to be yoy up ( Not unexpected, New 3ds for 99$ in Black Friday, Pokemon S/M+ Pokemo go) and a famous twitter persona who hasn't been very positive and fair regarding 3DS sales, posted that 3DS was on fire in november npd... So imagine! If this rumor about just 1m XB1 and 1.1m PS4 in november is valid, don't be surprised if 3ds came close to them!

New 3ds xl is almost sold out everywhere and still hasn't been restocked.  Nintendo's inventory must have been depleted and they have to produce more to replenish the shelves and meet the relatively tremendous demand for 3ds in its 6th year.

Nintendo is too much insecure, they saw all that Pokemon go effect and they only increased their FY16 forecast by 1m, 5m->6m, when 3ds is on track to beat 2014 and 2015, when they shipped  7.63m and 7.9 respectively.

I hope Nintendo's undershipping or inability to produce/ship enough won't prevent 3DS to sell more in 2016, than it sold in 2014 and 2015.

Oh I didnt know that!

I was also worried that the 3DS would be quite down as well but Pokemon Go + SM got me thinking.

What?

Do you remember how much it sold last November...? It didn't have any discount and there weren't enounh New models because of big stagnant old models stock. This year it's  fully New 3ds/xl.

Also, you follow amazon ranking, New 3ds xl was perfoming exceptionally till to get sold out....

3DS was yoy up in october, that was the 4th or 5th consecutive month to by yoy up after Pokemon go! Nintendo released a 99$  new 3ds for black friday and for the first the time the coveted black new 3ds in the USA, Pokemon S/M broke records of course thanks to Pokemon go... Why then, did you expect 3ds to  be quite down?

Switch? Most people don't deem it to be 3ds successor but wii u's, not unjustly! Plus that Nintendo calls it a home system first and foremost and noted that they  will keep pushing 3DS... I agree with that. Switch the home console with a commodity that lets you to carry it out or move to another room inside your home and keep playing without a tv.

it remains vague if switch replaces 3DS too.

Just because it's also a handheld console, it doesn't mean that it's 3ds successor! 3DS might get its own, ( they could still have shared game library with switch),  unless Nintendo can sell switch standalone at 199$ and for  less, later. They could make a switch version to be for switch what 2ds if for 3ds.

If 3ds had a different successor, I would like something like these... That's 3ds x tablet.
