Let's go through Spencer's quotes as reported by IGN:

Nowhere in this do I read that Spencer "hates 3rd party exclusive deals and" and that "he will do away with them". If you do, please point it out for me.

Sounds like Phil was just sharing his opinion, an opinion that's quite common in this very site. I happen to think that while neat, VR is not ready. Am I engaging in console wars when I say that?

Considering how long it took for Final Fantasy 15 and The Last Guardian to release, I'd say the jab is not an unfair one.

Spencer is regularly asked about Sony during interviews.

Is this the worst Spencer has said about 1.5 consoles and VR? I ask because this is awfully tame stuff.

Ok we will leave it there. You like Spencer and I don't. This argument is going around in circles and I do not agree with anything you are saying. 

Just a quick point: Phil Spencer brings up Sony because he's asked about Sony during interviews.

After MS pushed the "no games on PS4" narrative last year, he tried his hardest to push the same narrative this year. He constantly tries to compare the XB1 in a better light than the PS4. For somebody that isn't "a fan" he does like to bring the wood for the console war fire, the gaming sites build the fire while the fanboys light it and bask if the fiery fanboy warmth.

 

If you want an end to console wars, you might want to start by stopping it on your end first.
