 I wouldn't say that I'm an adult the type that is more likely to spend that kinda of money but i don't see either the blu-ray or HD-DVD as a better then a regular DVD. I mean only a few movies not all movies are on the formats and my regular Sony Tube Television is practically brand new and HD TV is out of the question.

 IF you don't have an HD TV then of course Blu Ray player doesn't matter, but if you do then it's a huge plus. And there is a very big difference. Not as big as from VHS to DVD but still very big and much better looking.

Ckmlb i definitely agree with you i know there's a big difference when one compares the two HD formats to a DVD but the fact that there are two formats and and that I need an HDTV to get the full effect. A regular person would rather wait till prices come down or when the have an HD-DVD and blu-ray combo.
