FF16 should hopefully cost less simply by only having 1 development cycle
I definitely think FF16 being a more self contained project would be their best move. The technology behind FF15 is sufficiently advanced enough to keep any game made with it visually competitive for the rest of the generation, and they'll be more experienced with the hardware now. If possible, i think they should aim to have FF16 released by the end of 2019. In 4 - 5 years we will almost certainly have at least a new PlayStation, and likely a new Xbox, and they may feel pressured into pushing the game's tech to whatever standards those systems set. Even if one has released by 2019, it should have been out for a short enough period of time that the smaller upgrades we see in cross-gen releases should be acceptable.
