He's not shutting up shop and going away. He's just basically wiping the slate clean and creating a new channel so that his number of subscribers more accurately reflects the number of views his videos get.
So you were never going to get your wish. Besides, I have no idea if he's annoying or not, because I don't watch. If you think he's annoying, just don't watch. But don't begrudge him making a living doing youtube if he is providing entertainment to a bunch of people who like his stuff. If I knew I could make good money doing that sort thing I'd quit my job today and do it.
