Yep ... not in Japan boys. Not with a home console it ain't. That's not a knock on Sony, they tried. The results just aren't there.

The only video game hardware people in Japan are willing to buy en masse are Nintendo portables. And that's it. That's reality, you can deny that as a developer, but you may as well then just make up your own sales numbers and profit totals because you're living in lala land. 

This is exactly it, it's not a knock on Sony as some are taking it it's in fact a signal of how the market is over there if they can't change the fortunes of home consoles over there then it means the only thing that can is a console like portable device.

If FF can't turn things around there then that confirms homes consoles are in their current declined position for the long haul, DQ was the only other thing but already made the jump back with DQIX and MH has tried several times and got blown out, the consumers there just aren't into home consoles as much anymore.
