So did Final Fantasy XV, breaking records for digital download in Japan. See whatever you want. The official statement by Square-Enix is that it is the fastest selling title in the franchise so far, aligned or not.

You do realize I'm suggesting Square should have supported the 3DS with mainline entries into the FF franchise, right?

The official statement by Square-Enix means nothing when you take into account reality.


And what reality is that? From the worldwide sales so far, the reality is that Final Fantasy is still a huge brand and has its place on home consoles. Nintendo could get the mainline titles if they'd support developers with competent home console hardware. The 3DS isn't the suitable place for games of the scale of Final Fantasy XV. As was made obvious by the lackluster port of Xenoblade.
