This port begging is incredible.

Really.  The only thing I have to say to them is, "Don't hold your breath."  Well, unless you want spinoff games.  The truth is, while Nintendo keeps aiming for lower-end power, some devs just aren't going to be interested in making games for the system.  Sure, the Switch will be a powerful tablet, however, it's not going to be anywhere near powerful enough to run FFXV and FF7:Remake.  And the latter I don't expect to make it on any other platform but PS4 and PC.  When it comes to FF7, Sony has always kept a close relationship with SE.  It, and its spinoffs, have never appeared on another manufacturer's console.

Personally, given the state of console gaming and the poor decisions SE took with FF13 and the sequels for it no one wanted, I think FFXV did well.  I'm sure WW sales for it will be really nice, too.  Though, I'm actually more interested in how well FF7:R does.  I think a Pro bundle for that game would be a very smart move by Sony.

The majority of Japanese games are already quite a few levels below the West when it comes to development budget, so that doesn't make much sense. And companies only care about maximising profits. The alliance with Sony is just hurting them. They should abandon the ship while they can. Playstation isn't big anymore in Japan. People need to accept that.

In the time it took them to make one FF game for the PS4, they could have made 3 mainline FF games for the 3DS. Just recently some people were bragging about FF being the king of jrpgs. Please, it's not even in the top 3 jrpgs of Japan anymore.

If the Switch can run Dark Souls 3 then it will be powerful enough for the far majority of Japanese developers.
