How can you not talk about the importance of the west for a franchise like Final Fantasy after a statement like that. Profitability is an underlined theme here.

Japanese games absolutely don't need to sell well in Japan to stay alive if they find success in the west. People outside of Japan also love traditional Japanese games.

If FFXV is considered as part of the traditional Japanese game industry and is popular and profitable in the west then a decline in Japan does not mean the doom of the traditional Japanese game industry.
