I think it's more to do with home consoles in general do back in Japan.
Home consoles have struggled in Japan since PS2. I think the Wii did amazing to start out there, but then died. The PS3 very very slowly managed just a average number.
Japan has moved more towards handhelds. Feels like you don't really much more than 5 mil consoles in Japan for it's healthy life. Sure it may crawl to a higher number, but not very quick. I mean isn't PS4 right now only at 3 mil?
Hard to pull 2 million first week with those numbers. Handhelds you see in the 20+ million numbers. Question is? Will Switch sell more like a handheld in Japan or Home Console?
