in order from best to worst:

1. Mario Mart 8 - the most tracks ever seen in a Mario Kart game and all of them are enjoyable. the mechanics all feel natural yet subtle. easily the best one.

2. Mario Kart DS - one of the first DS games i played and the first Mario Kart I played. I love the courses it has and i have so many fond memories of it.

3. Mario Kart Wii - overall a great game but oh my god did it get stale after a while. to be fair, it has a lot of my favorite courses though, so i had to put it on the higher up

4. Mario Kart: Double Dash - a unique spin that didnt feel forced or unnatural. i give that a thumbs up.

5. Mario Kart 64 - while not a bad entry in the series, every game after it one-up'ed everything it had to offer.

6. Mario Kart: Super Circuit - the controls were a bit frustrating, so it was hard to enjoy to its fullest.

7. Mario Kart 7 - this game is broken. if you get hit once it basically guarantees you wont win. even if you finish in first place in all the races there is still a chance you wont get 3 stars on the grand prix. and a lot of the courses feel so empty.

8. Super Mario Kart - never played it and it is the most primitive in the series. so its last.
