There are four types of 'remasters' in my eyes. First are the 5th / 6th gen remasters, which are more like remakes - these can be awesome (Ratchet & Clank) or hit garbage (Silent Hill HD). Done right, they are a much needed face lift and update for modern audiences.
Then there's the "this game ran like dogshit on consoles last gen, so...here it is again!" This can be worth it on a case by case basis, depending on who you are.
Then there's the "the game ran fine on Wii-U, but here's a touched up rerelease for the people who didn't buy that console."
Finally, there's the cash grab. Game ran fine cirst time around, on almost every platform, yet we're getting an Arkham remaster anyway.
