Would have been Sony's press conference a lot better if they did... And I doubt it would have wasted that much if they pre-planned it.

The trailer at the VGA for example was 4 minutes long with 2 major reveals. One was Del Toro and the other was Mads. I don't see why they couldn't have only shown the Del toro at VGA and Madz at PSX as an example.

Not really. Pairing it up with Kojimas award and speech was a lot better timing, especially since it most likely hit a large non-PS audience.

And again, where does Kojima and his team have the resources and time?

Sure they could do your suggestion, (cause it is realistic) but end up cutting up a pretty epic trailer. The Del Toro bit by itself wouldn't have nearly the same impact. Its really the latter half of that trailer that sells the whole thing.

But if they planned it, they could have hit both... And again, it depends on how they were going to present the trailers.

I think it would have still made a great impact cause the first half was mysterious as it is and we wouldn't have known anything about the second part.

Then at PSX, they reveal the second half while hyping about it on Social Media before hand which would make more people tune in for the PSX which would have been much better for Sony while keeping the hype going.

The point is, if they planned it, depending on how they planned it, they could have done it quite a few ways. They could have even made the Del toro part a bit differently to make it more exciting if they planned the Mads part for PSX.
