It's better than 13 that's for sure, but it's still no way near as good as other titles. I have played and completed every Final Fantasy numerous times, love the franchise to bits.
I think if the story telling was on point and they added a few more characters as well as more magic then we would have had a very very good Final Fantasy on our hands. Most people that are bitching haven't actually played it. I will admit it is a let down but it's not as much of a let down as FFXIII was.
