It will stop at FF XXX.
FFXV could be (a lot) better on the storytelling part. The pacing is really weird: very slow at the start, then too much (disjointed) story in the last few chapters.
About the world, I have to say the old FFs overworld map is just not gon work in today's standard. I kinda wish they just make smaller and more varied instanced maps, instead of one huge map with little variation.
And for the more important part, characters. This is where i think FFXV really shines. Dont let their appearance fools you. The chemistry and the banter are so good, it's the main thing that keeps me slog through the worse part of FFXV. I'm pretty sure most of the reviewers out there would say the same.
I'm not going into that turnbased vs action debate, but if this series is going into more action combat, they missed several important points:
- Command cancel is essential in any action game
- Enemy atk needs better animation. It's difficult to anticipate some of the atks because the animation is really weird. Often times, i have to rely on "press x to dodge" notification to defend
- Magic doesnt feel as smooth as weapon combat. Wish I could cast magic while dancing among the enemies
- CAMERA THAT WORKS. THE WORST OFFENDER OF FFXV
