0, but I came close a bunch of times. I think I never managed to stock more than 2 mage elixirs / mega phoenix because of that. The difficulty "rythm" is pretty good, some fights are stomp but if you don't do much sidequests it's pretty breathtaking.

Is the combat fun?

I love Star Ocean 4 because the combat is soooo addictive, despite the awful story

I haven't played either of this games. The combat was way more fun than I expected, I tought I would grow bored of it at the 20 hours mark, I'm glad I was wrong.

Well they said you need the patch to help under the story so im afraid so.
