He has 4gb of ram, so he kinda needs 64bit. If he got a 1gb card he would have less than 2.8gb Usable ram. But I do agree on the HDD, Im sorry I missed it, kinda just glossed over that part.
As for driver compatibility if its been signed off for Vista, and everything has then it will work on 64bit.
Optical drive? Is that down the page more, it seems to have a scroll bar.
