Exactly. It was just great rhetorics! It's just a way of saying how bad and corrupt you think a person is, "she is a criminal and she deserves to be put in jail". Just like if I dislike someone, I might say "you deserve to get a hammer in your forehead", while I might not literally mean it. Simple as that. It never meant he would actually prosecute her if he won and very few people actually believed that. Why would he want to do that if he won? She already suffered enuff. So this is just bitter leftists trying to make it appear like Trump is backtracking on his promises to make Trump supporters upset. Sorry, but it doesn't work. |
I've got to admit, I'm puzzled at how you're trying to spin this. First, it appears the far right is also going after Trump for this, like it or not. Second, your analogy is terrible. Trump said, verbatim, "If I win, I am going to instruct my Attorney General to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation." That was a clear statement. It's dishonest to suggest otherwise.
There are some things that just can't be spun.
Personally, I've been saying all along that Donald Trump had no clue what he could and could not do as President. Now, he is surrounding himself with advisors who are giving him "on the job" training, so to speak. A lot of people saw this coming. Of course, a lot of people did not, and voted for Trump because they believed he was more honest than career politicians. Should be an interesting next few months.
