I'm not sure what the point of it being a Last of Us game would be, then. The Last of Us was sold largely upon its two main characters and the developing relationship between the two. Implementing an entirely new story with entirely new characters kind of undermines the main selling point of the whole experience.

O/T: Not a huge fan of the idea; there doesn't seem to be a real continuing point for the story established in the previous game, and the world of the Last of Us is pretty much interchangeable with any Walking Dead-esque zombie future. I think I'd rather just see them do something new.
