I do think gamefreak has higher standards than that. Anyways, we have heard rumors and wishes for a console mainline pokemon for decades. I just can't believe a rumor. I'm gonna have to see proof. All games have higher assets created just as he says they're just scaled to the hardware overtime, this is why emulators can upscale games with out any added assets.
As for the rumour Gamefreak themselves have always said the only way they'll make a mainline console game is if the player could take the console with them.
