As someone who planned on buying a Wii U the day Zelda released on it (which was delayed years...) The idea has a great deal of appeal to me personally. That said, I get how Wii U owners would not see the value in playing Smash or Mario ports on Switch.
I think if Nintendo does port games they also need to make a point that new titles are coming.
"Hey, we ported SMBU and SM3DL, and we remastered SMG 1 & 2...and here's SMG3!"
That would make me buy a Switch, and I do think there is a large untapped market that would be with me in enjoying ports or remasters along with new entries in beloved series. You have to have that new game as well though, otherwise you have a system with two Zelda remasters (WW & TP) and no new exclusive Zelda, like the Wii U.
