If they are reused then there really is no need to have a learning process then. Its not like making a new game will be less of an experience.

But the Wii U and Switch use different architecture for their hardware so it's not that easy.  And like you said making a new game wouldn't be less of an experience, in fact it would be more and that's part of the point that they want to save time on.  

Wii U games had longer development cycles in part due to it being Nintendo's first HD console, with them learning on existing Wii U blueprints they can spend more time on optimization.  That they are working on ports of popular games early on bodes well for the future of those game series or at least those teams that work on them because other parts of the team can focus more on new ideas, art, assets, direction etc, for NEW games while other team members get to know the Switch on the programing side.
