No, FFXV is a JRPG. The only thing "western" (and not even RPG-specific because there are more non-RPGs doing it than WRPGs) about is the design option to litter areas with modern chore-like pick ups. And...honestly even that isn't western, koreans were already doing it long before, it's just that the west adapted it to a more approachable design of quicker satisfaction and less grind. The combat is jrpg, the story and characters are jrpg, the music is jrpg, everything is jrpg
