They released 2 GC games (could have been more if not for those trouble times while developing Metroid); 2 Wii games (and a port) and 1 Wii U game (that was pretty much ready in 2013). Yes, they also helped other titles, but what you showed is that, when entering HD development, they started needing more time to develop games: 2 years from one GC to the other; 3 years from one Wii game to the other. Regarding Wii U, i think that Tropical Freeze was pretty much ready in 2013, so, if the next game releases next year (i think so, btw) it will be close to 4 years.

I don't know how much of that assistance in other projects hurt them, so, it's hard to evaluate that part.

We already saw only 1 game from them this gen and we might just see only one again this coming gen. And if their next project is demanding, you can bet it will happen. Unless they add more staff.

How did I show that HD development caused them to need more time?

Prime 3-Aug 2007 to DKC Returns-Nov 2010 (3 years & 3 months)

DKC Returns-Nov 2010 to Tropical Freeze-Feb 2014 (3 years & 3 months)

Their first HD game literally took the same amount of time as their last SD game.

They have consistently released a game every 3 years (give or take a few months) since 2004.

It took the same amount of the last SD game, but you can't forget that they still needed Monster Games for that and if it wasn't for reusing assets, development would have taken more time.
It's kinda like the situation with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The latter was done in about half time because MM reused assets.

So, my point was that had they done a different game other than Tropical Freeze and you could bet they would have increased their developtment time.

I don't know when they are releasing their next game, but by the looks of it they will probably end up spending more time in that one aswell.
And because of the increasing development times (not even Nintendo could avoid this) i fear that they won't be able to put out games every 3 years anymore.
It would be best if they could release a new game every 2 years.

If you compare them with Naughty Dog (another awesome studio), who were able to put out 5 games during the PS2 era (2000-2006)  and 4 games during the PS3 (2006-2013).
During the same time period, Retro put out 2 games during GC's era (2001-2006) and 1 game during Wii U era (2012-2016).
I'm comparing PS3 and Wii U because they were the first HD console for each studio.

See? This is what i was talking about.
Retro should have the staff to do this too and it doesn't. And to me, it's like having a talented studio but less efficient than it could be.
