I don't think it would be that unintuitive. And there's a large potential audience if the Switch succeeds that wouldn't know about that touch screen functions. Can't miss what you never had.   

But dumping a TON of time into frontier nav would be a pain. Navigating those menus with a stick would suck plain and simple. Especially when trying to get 10000 miranium, and you gotta play around with where you are dropping probes. To get Ares 90 would become vastly more time consuming and it took me a month to get it WITH the functionality.
