The term "shitload" is actually a transformation of the word buttload. Buttload, despite how it sounds, is an actual measurement. A buttload of something is quantified as 6 seams or 450 gallons.
So the next time someone says "shitload" or "buttload" you can probably surmise that while they may not know what they're talking about, you certainly do.
