Because SJWs are typically associated with ending racism, homophobia and sexism of only certain groups of people by being racist/sexist to other groups of people.

It's a typical example of confirmation bias. Basically one hates SJW and pays attention only to the loud and crazy ones only to confirm what he already believed, i.e. that they're crazy, completely ignoring the vast majority of level headed people who don't think that calling Michelle Obama "an ape in heels" is acceptable and who believe that calling a gay guy a "f**" is wrong.
