As a proud owner of a Samsung UE65JS9500 I can tell you that input lag is shit on all 4K TVs. Samsung already has one of the lowest input lags on 4K TVs and it's still absurd. Even if I turn on gaming mode which disables a lot of quality options(including HDR) it's still horribly laggy.
Of course it all depends on how sensible you are to input lag. As someone used to high framerates and <5ms reaction times I find it unplayable. To the point where I chose to plug my consoles into one of my non-gaming monitors which is still miles better at 1080p.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
