I played the demo of the first one, I played a bit of the Vita game, I watched all of UC4. It's always the same. Even in the latest game you will still find that pipe/ladder/ledge that will break when you climb on it every five minutes. From a gameplay perspective there is nothing worthwhile in the game.

It's just set pieces after set pieces that put spectacle over everything else. You could just run through the game without paying any attention to your surroundings and you would lose nothing from the experience.

But if you like the story and don't have to puke at their horrible conversations it could be a nice zen-like experience. You know, like watching a movie. A really really long movie.

It's almost like that, yes. You don't have any puzzles that are challenging, you just keep on moving forward through this game. No one gets left behind in Uncharted. Still, I am somehow enjoying it. But the scores it got with over 90 is just not justified, in my opinion.

That's all the mainstream spectacle that will outweigh almost anything. If you leave a game experience with a finishing great cutscene it will elevate everying else.

Look at FFXIII. It was universally hated by the people for the bland and restrictive gameplay yet got passable scores and even some 10s because it is a great spectacle. Uncharted plays even more to the western sensibilities, so it's only natural that it gets a high score.
